In political science, why is it important to compare governments?
Q. Hello, I'm a political science newbie and I'd like to know why is it necessary for political scientists to compare different governments of different countries? Aside from the government itself, what else do we compare when we study comparative government/politics? And what's the difference between international relations and comparative government? Thanks!

A Libertarian party would hold the common belief that an individual should be as free to run their own life as possible. Obviously in modern times you dont get pure Libertarian parties because in essence they support the idea that we do not need political parties to be governed. Assuming you are in the UK, you might want to look at the Liberal Democrats, who have historically been more Libertarian, as their name suggests.
